Answers to the Questions You’re Asking

Planning a medical trip abroad can feel overwhelming. We’re here to make it simple, safe, and transparent. Below are answers to the questions we hear most often.

Safety & Legitimacy

Is it safe to get medical care abroad?

Yes, with MediTour, safety begins with choosing the right providers.
We partner only with internationally accredited hospitals and doctors who meet or exceed the standards applied in Canada and the European Union. Many of our partner clinics hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, recognized worldwide as the gold standard in healthcare quality and patient safety

How do I know which clinic or doctor to trust?

We carefully vet every partner before recommending them.
MediTour uses a strict screening process to evaluate every hospital and physician. We review credentials, accreditations, facility standards, and patient outcomes to ensure the delivery of optimal care. Many of our partner facilities hold international certifications and strong reputations in their specialties. Only providers who meet our standards are invited into our network.

Is Turkey safe for travel?

That’s not a problem, just let us know in advance.
Many of our partner clinics specialize in treating patients with chronic conditions. By sharing your medical history with us early, we can match you with a facility and doctor experienced in your specific needs. It ensures you receive safe, personalized care.

Why should I go abroad if I can get treatment in Canada?

Access to care is much faster abroad.
In Canada, many procedures, ranging from hip replacements to bariatric surgery and specialized diagnostic tests, involve waitlists that can span months to even years. By choosing treatment abroad, you bypass the delays and receive care on your schedule. You’ll have access to internationally accredited doctors and modern facilities without the frustration of long wait times.

Absolutely, Canadians and Americans are free to seek care abroad.
There are no restrictions on Canadians or Americans seeking medical treatment abroad. MediTour ensures that your documentation, travel papers, and insurance are in order so your trip is fully compliant and stress-free.

Costs & Financing

How much can I expect to save?

Typically 40–70% compared to Canadian or U.S. prices.
The exact savings depend on the procedure and destination. However, most clients pay significantly less than in Canada or the U.S., often 40–70% less, while still receiving care at internationally accredited facilities that meet or exceed Western standards.

Can I finance my procedure?

Yes, flexible financing is available.
MediTour partners with trusted financing providers to offer payment plans, making care more accessible. Our team will guide you through your options and assist you with applying for financing if needed.

What’s included in the cost?

Packages typically cover your procedure, hospital fees, and more.
Packages are tailored to each procedure, but may include:

  • The medical procedure itself
  • Hospital and doctor’s fees
  • Standard pre-op and post-op tests
  • Medications during treatment
  • Accommodation and airport transfers (depending on the package)
  • Personal support from our Canada-based team

You’ll always receive a clear, upfront cost breakdown with no hidden fees.

Are flights and hotels included in the package?

Travel arrangements aren’t included, but we can provide them as an extra service.

Flights, accommodation, and local transfers are not included in our standard medical packages. However, we can arrange them as an additional service if you’d like full travel support. Our coordinators will assist with booking flights, hotels, and transfers, ensuring every detail of your trip is handled smoothly and professionally.

Support & Aftercare

What support do I get before, during, and after my trip?

Full support every step of the way.

  • Before: Clinic selection, cost estimates, travel planning.
  • During: Airport pickup, transfers, and on-site support.
  • After: Follow-up consultations, continuity of care with your Canadian physician, and telemedicine support when available.

We stay with you through the entire journey.

What happens if there’s a complication after I return?

We provide continuity of care.
If complications arise, we arrange direct communication between your overseas doctor and your Canadian physician. Telemedicine follow-ups are available, and in some cases, return visits can be arranged. Our goal is to ensure safe, seamless aftercare.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes, we use secure, encrypted systems.
Your personal and medical information is stored in compliance with Canadian PIPEDA and U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Records are shared only with authorized providers you approve and are never sold or disclosed to third parties.

I’m just exploring. Can I talk to someone without committing?

Absolutely MediTour offers free consultations.
You can speak to our team at no cost and with no obligation. We’ll answer your questions, explain your options, and provide a clear picture of how MediTour can support you, whether you move forward now or later.
